Aritra Ghosh | February 25, 2011

The actual format to send an email is @email recipient-email-id -s subject -b body ,provided you have registered your email ID with this service first. i think most of you missed the "-s" and "-b" options. Please try back and let me know if you were able to send an email. Thanks :)

I would like to collaborate with you on this one Aritra... I'm not sure why your App hasn't got as much attention as it deserves. A simple work out would be as follows: (Although we have some credibility issues here, we'll need to make sure the users trust their data with us and proper encrypting and ciphering mechanisms would need to be in place to safeguard our users data) 1) A user sends his Gmail ID and Password and binds his cellphone to that ID and creates a passphrase. 2) We authenticate the users Gmail ID against his password once and set his account access via his passphrase. (This authentication can be set to repeat after every 2 hours or 3 hours etc - because what can happen is that some one might change his password on a computer but forgot to do the same with his TxTweb) 3) So, once 1 and 2 are done.. the user can do something like this: @email (recipient-email-id) (subject) (body) (passphrase) and his emails can be routed because he's authenticated in our system. 4) Now, i'm not sure how TxTWeb API works, or what platform these apps are being built on and what type of flexibility we have with the API, i was unable to find any documentation etc on this website, so this is a blind guess from here onwards.. 5) I believe Google provides API to authenticate a users Google Account and we can use that to do the above transaction. -OR- Just create a simple HTML page where the users enter their Gmail ID etc on Google's Login page and allow access to your App. Once the response handle is returned from Google.. We can mark that user as Authenticated. But then again, this will overburden the system because we'll have no way of re-authenticating the system. And the reson why this will work only with Gmail ID's is that only Google allows access to Google Accounts, others like yahoo and hotmail are quite closed in that respect or i dont know about what level of API access they provide... Anyways, was just brainstorming here... Great work on the app! Jasdeep

Well I know the above concerns would come up for sure. Work is in progress . Check this space for more :-)

Tried this app...very cool...it would be great if the mssg actually went from my inbox and more importantly if I could access my inbox or at least get alerts with a a gist of the new e-mails.... (features on yourradar :-)

Kaushik D | September 10, 2010

cool app Aritra!

Anand | September 09, 2010

Great app!

Admin | September 06, 2010

This is a truly great app. Kudos Aritra! This actually seeds a lot of great possibilities ahead. Can I check my inbox, can I cc stuff, can I send emails to more than one id etc. Keep if up.. we would love to see more updates Also what if one registers an id not belonging to him or her and starts sending mails. Is there a check on that.

Santiago Bruno | September 05, 2010

Aritra, this app is great! Access to inbox on SMS might be tough, but is there any way the recipient can reply by email to an address which then routes the email as an SMS?

Manu | September 03, 2010

nice app :) like +1

Aritra Ghosh | September 02, 2010

Some more features ! To remove an existing email account send "@email remove old-email-id" To update an existing email account send "@email update new_email_id"

Aritra Ghosh | September 02, 2010

As promised , new features have been added ! To register with TxtEmail send "@email register your-email-id" to +91 9243 342 000 To send email : "@email recipient-email-id -s subject -b body" The email is still owned by TxtWeb Mailer but it mentions that the email is sent by whom i.e your-email-id with which you register.
