What does this App do?

 

This application provides users all important train-related information via SMS:

 

• Time table for all locations upto 90 days

• Seat availability

• Routes

• Location of a train at any given time

How to use this Service

  

The primary keyword is @trainav, which when used with other details will give you the required information.

   

• Train Availability – Gives train time-table and seat availability.

   

To use, SMS @trainav (space)(source station code)(space)(destination station code)(space)(class) to 92665 92665

   

o For Eg: @trainav ed mas SL - Will respond with the trains plying between Erode and Chennai with seat availability for next 15 days.

  

o For Eg: @trainav ed mas sl 16670 – Will respond with the availability of yercaud express(16670) for next 15 days, where ed and mas are source and destination station code.

   

• All trains between stations – displays all trains running between two stations.

   

To use, SMS @trainav.stn src_station_code dest_station_code to 92665 92665

 

o Eg: @trainav.stn ED TPJ - will display all trains running between the stations Erode and Tiruchchirappalli

   

If you do not know the station codes, SMS @trainav.code (station name or first few characters of the name) to 92665 92665

   

o Eg: @trainav.code erode or @trainav.code er

   

• Train Route – gives the route for all express and passenger trains –

 

Route of a express train - To use, SMS @trainav.route (train number) to 92665 92665

   

o Eg: @trainav.route 16670

   

Route of a passenger train - SMS @trainav.proute (train number) to 92665 92665

   

o Eg: @trainav.proute 56840

   

• Locate a train – checks real time train status.

   

To use, SMS @trainav.spot(space)(Train number)(space)(Station code) to 92665 92665

   

o Eg: @trainav.spot 16670 sa

   

• PNR status – allows to get the PNR status of any train ticket

   

To use, SMS @trainav.pnr (pnr number) to 92665 92665

 

Note:

   

• Wherever (space) is mentioned or is indicated visually, leave space between two words. Do not type (space) as a part of the message.

   

• Train availability is provided for 15 days by default and can be extracted for 90 days

   

• Express trains are displayed first followed by Passenger trains. Trains are sorted by time

   

• Class Codes for trains: Sleeper – SL, AC First Class - 1A, AC 2-Tier - 2A, AC 3-Tier -- 3A, AC Chair Car – CC, First Class - FC, Second Sitting -2S
