txtWeb Recommended apps for March 2012

Time for our monthly round-up and this time too, we have a mixed bag of apps –there is an app for great quotes, to find out the answers of questions that start with “How to..”, to place orders at restaurants and to stay updated on the latest events in your city. It is encouraging to find that developers are taking a long-hard look at pain areas in the daily lives of people, converting these into app opportunities and building the right type of apps that fill the gap, thereby addressing real needs.

Let’s find out in detail how each of them (powered by SMS, thereby decimating the internet) are creating a stir ----

o   Get two random quotes with every SMS.

o   Allows users to share wonderful quotes with friends/family anytime without having to flip through books or surf the internet

o   Developed by Sabin

o   This is your ‘How to…” Messiah!!! It answers all questions which start with ‘How’ -- How to improve concentration power, How to do programming, How to propose a girl/boy, How to cook pasta …..!!

o   Simply send the keyword

§  @smshowto 9243342000

o   Developed by SagarKadam

o   It’s your one-stop shop to order food or book a table at your favourite restaurant in Bangalore, Delhi or Mumbai.

o   Keyword:

§  Search By Location

·         @justeatKoramangala, Bangalore OR

·         @justeatSaket, Delhi

·         @justeatMahim, Mumbai

§  Search By Cuisine, Location

·         @justeat Chinese Koramangala

·         @justeat Italian Saket

·         @justeat South Indian Mahim

o   Developed by Justeat.in

o   This app allows you to stay updated on all Events, Conferences, Exhibitions, Seminars, and Trade fairs in the country

o   Send @meraeventsto 9243342000.

o   Developed by Meraevents.com

Tell us what you think about the apps we mentioned in this article. Our developers take your feedback to further polish their offerings and make their apps best-in-class.

The first quarter of the year now over, we give a pat to our developers for keeping the variety alive. Looking forward to the second quarter now…

P.S:

In our February edition of ‘txtWeb recommended Apps’, we talked about the chat app, @funchat. Recently, we had a video made on it – our loveable hero coming to the rescue of a depressed, lonely girl. We are sure that you will love it -- Do check it out at http://youtu.be/ddcxnDrwqPI

Thank you txtweb for recommended my app (@smshow). But the keyword for my app is wrong. The correct keyword is.... @smshow . And 2nd thing is that, the link provided for my app is also wrong. When I click on my app, I redirected to the @itrace app. Please correct it. :)
