Thank you for your enthusiastic response to txtWeb since we launched it 3 months back. We also appreciate several inputs and suggestions you have provided us via the txtWeb forum, blog and other channels. We have incorporated your inputs in our approach for the next 6 months. Given that txtWeb is a platform play, we have two constituents: developers and end users. The success of txtWeb platform depends on how we can get both these constituents to the platform at the same time to enrich the experience and create value. In our pilot during the first 3 months with student developers, these two constituents overlapped. However, as we expand txtWeb, these two constituents will start diverging and hence we need to appropriately target them.
We have a three-pronged approach to attract the developers:
As regards attracting end users to start using txtWeb apps, we noticed that in phase 1, evangelization of apps by developer themselves worked. So we will try to amplify that by making it easier for the developers to spread the word around. We already have full integration with facebook and Twitter. In addition, we will make a shortlist of good apps with mass appeal and expose it to young adult users via online channels (e.g. web marketing, SMS campaign, and social media).
As a small start-up team, we will keep our minds open to what we learn as we start with this approach and make quick adjustments. We would love to hear your inputs on these proposed ideas and also how you would like to engage with us to take txtWeb to the next level. Note that we have exciting opportunities for like-minded passionate individuals to join our team in Bangalore.
